Human Capital Management project

The Human Capital Management (HCM) project is progressing well with the sector consultation process set to conclude in a little over a month. Dr Andrew Trnacek, HES CEO, wrote to all university HR Directors in July seeking their response to a discussion document prepared to activate thinking in this area.  The project also established a MindHive challenge to crowdsource opinions and discussion from the broader HR community – particularly from those outside the sector.

The first Steering Committee meeting was held on July 28 chaired by Dr Nick Tate with membership consisting of the HR Directors from LaTrobe and Edith Cowan Universities as well as the HRIS Group chair.  The second meeting was held on August 31.

Early indications are that the sector has either commenced or will be commencing to resource a project related to the adoption of a HCM solution and that HES will have a future role to play in collaborating with specific universities on HCM initiatives as well the probability of vendor selection processes in 2018.
