New HES CEO appointed

Dr Andrew Trnacek has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Higher Ed Services (HES).

A senior partner at Grant Thornton with account responsibility for the public sector and the national lead for education, Dr Trnacek will take up the top post at HES in mid-July.

Chair of the HES Board Graeme Dennehy said he was delighted to announce Dr Trnacek's appointment.
Dr Trnacek has more than 14 years' experience as a consultant across a broad range of industries with a solid track record of successfully leading high profile engagements, building markets and expanding client bases, Mr Dennehy said.

"He brings to HES hands-on, in-depth experience in finance, strategy, marketing and business improvement" he said.
Dr Trnacek's projects at Grant Thornton have covered funding model design, government and higher education systems and program review, market and segmentation analysis, budget builds and financial modelling in addition to business process improvement and machinery of government reviews.

He  joins HES at an important time to lead the company in its clear role of serving the higher education sector as a key facilitator of collaborative higher education projects and supporting Universities Australia in assisting the sector respond to the many challenges and opportunities it faces.

Dr Trnacek will take over from HES's Interim Chief Executive Officer, Vince Lendrum, who has successfully completed his assignment of resetting the company's operations strategy, establishing renewed support from the sector and setting the business in its new direction.
