AUPN Procurement Resources Centre

Launched in 2013, the Better Values Initiative has had a number of phases including a common clause survey (2014) and a study (2014) undertaken on contracts that are accessible by Universities, whether this is through State, Federal, Local or other 3rd Party consortia suppliers.  The AUPN Procurement Resources Centre, was officially launched on Wednesday, 7th January 2015.

The AUPN Procurement Resources Centre is designed to provide a consolidated portal for:

  • Accessing details of any benefits or discounts that apply to AUPN universities, and for
  • AUPN participating universities to access information on existing contracts available through Australian buying consortia at national, state and local government levels. There are some 1800 accessible contracts through which universities can already buy without going to tender.

It is designed to assist with the ongoing collaboration experience across AUPN participating universities and will over time improve sector knowledge and performances with regards to Procurement Processes.

The information available will be a ready source of information at a time when there is considerable movement of procurement staff within the sector.  It will assist the procurement function, and allow Universities to investigate “Value for Money options” i.e. supply, benchmarking, supplier recognition for “on the fly negotiation” and localisation of contract offer available at the State/Federal/Local levels or from other 3rd Party suppliers.

In addition to the National Consortia and State Government Contracts, we have now included the Local Government Procurement contracts to the AUPN Procurement Resources Centre.
