Java Preferential
Licensing Data Collection

We have a limited window to gather the information we need for HES to negotiate a sector-wide Java preferential licensing agreement that will result in significant savings for your organisation.

Since January 2019, Oracle no longer issues public updates for commercial users of Java SE 8 which means that updates for commercial use ‘are no longer free’. Oracle has officially moved Java SE to a subscription-based model.

As you know, HES have been in negotiations with Oracle to secure a preferential Java licensing agreement that will save the sector between 20% and 30% on licensing fees. It is critical we gather the information we require to assess your needs and continue our negotiations. Oracle has set a deadline by which negotiations must be concluded, so it is imperative that you participate in the data collection exercise so we can act quickly and secure a preferential Java licensing agreement for the sector.
