A single source of truth accepted all over the world

The level of participation in MyeQuals by higher education institutions and learners has set a global benchmark and inspired similar initiatives.

My eQuals was conceived in 2015 as a combined Australian and New Zealand higher education sector response to the Groningen Declaration and its commitment to Digital Student Data portability and credential integrity.

It enables higher education institutions to issue and manage official credentials for their students and graduates. The platform also provides learners with lifelong access to their credentials and the ability to share them as required to support further study, employment or migration.

The level of participation by higher education insitutions and learners has set a global benchmark and inspired similar sector collaboration initiatives elsewhere. My eQuals currently serves more than 90 education providers across Australia and New Zealand, including all public universities and the majority of TAFEs, private providers and pathway Colleges. More than 10 million documents and badges have been issued on the platform and more than 2.5 million learners have a My eQuals account.

Sector-wide Credit Management

Building on the collaboration ethos that is a hallmark of My eQuals, we recently celebrated the successful completion of a Credit Management Pilot project.

The Pilot delivered a practical blueprint for a sector-level Credit Management solution and further development will be a primary focus for 2024. This is expected to deliver significant benefits to Learners and Education Providers alike, whilst at the same time support equality and VET-HE collaboration objectives that are central themes in the Australian universities Accord.

National Skills Passport

The recently completed Australian Universities Accord is expected to drive lasting and transformative reform in Australia’s higher education system.

Integral to this reform will be the establishment of a National Skills Passport (NSP) that will allow citizens to demonstrate their skills and qualifications, while making it simpler for employers to hire new staff with the skills and qualifications they need.

My eQuals, which already serves millions of learners, can play an important role in this reform, continuing to allow learners to showcase their credentials and support transitions between employment and learning. We will continue to work with government to help shape an NSP that builds and leverages the significant foundations My eQuals provides.

Badges get upgraded

A major Badges enhancement is being released in 2024, aligned with global and local standards, including the National Microcredentials Framework, to enhance the experience of learners and issuers.

Curated Learner Profile

Released in May 2023 this feature supports learners in showcasing their unique educational stories, tailored for various contexts like job applications, further studies, or migration.

These profiles smoothly collate learner credentials, from transcripts to badges, in a visually appealing format. Beyond just sharing, they enable learners to craft impactful credential narratives.

Qualification Verification Service Announced

In Australia and New Zealand, verification of Academic Credentials has always been a largely manual and time-consuming process, involving employers or their agents needing to contact the issuing institutions or the searching of localised databases.

Consequently, many employers do not verify the applicant’s academic credentials claims, thus introducing significant risks in the hiring process.

In response to this challenge and significant demand for a centralised service, HES and RapidID have now entered into a partnership to bring a single-point Tertiary Qualification Verification Service to the ANZ market.

The new service includes:

• One-stop online degree and identity verifications

• Covering 20+ year history
of qualifications from 50,000 education providers from 195 countries

• Offering both historic and contemporary records

• Qualifications from 20 leading Australia and New Zealand Tertiary Education Providers instantly verified at launch, expanding to qualifications issued by all My eQuals Participants in the next

12 months

• API options for high-volume users

• Ability to process bulk verifications across multiple tertiary education providers
